Strengthening Climate Resilience in Agricultural Livelihoods in Agro-Ecological Regions I and II
The Strengthening Climate Resilience in Agricultural Livelihoods in Agro-Ecological Regions I and II (SCRALA) is a comprehensive initiative funded by the Green Climate Fund and implemented by the Government of Zambia, in cooperation with UNDP, FAO, and WFP. Running from September 1, 2018, to November 25, 2025, the project aims to bolster the ability of smallholder farmers, particularly women, youth, and marginalized groups in Agro-Ecological Regions I and II to adapt to climate shocks. Through improved climate information services, promotion of climate-smart farming, strengthened institutional capacity of agencies like the Zambia Meteorological Department (ZMD), and increased access to markets and alternative livelihoods, SCRALA seeks to enhance food security, income generation, and policy alignment with national development strategies.
