Transforming Landscapes for Resilience and Development (TRALAD) Project - Phase II

Transforming Landscapes for Resilience and Development

Enhance climate resilience, strengthening natural resource management, and promoting sustainable livelihoods across Zambia

Transforming Landscapes for Resilience and Development

The TRALARD II project, or Transforming Landscapes for Resilience and Development Phase II, is a forward-looking initiative expected to run from 2026 to 2031, jointly executed by the Government of Zambia and the World Bank, and supported through a substantial EUR 10 million grant from the Nordic Development Fund within a total funding framework of approximately USD 120–138 million. Building on Phase I’s achievements, this next phase focuses on modernizing Zambia’s weather observation infrastructure, enhancing climate data systems, and strengthening institutional capacity, particularly within the Zambia Meteorological Department to deliver timely and accurate climate information that supports adaptive decision-making, ecosystem preservation, and climate-resilient development countrywide.
